As this public art project is developing and the community’s voice is getting integrated int the artwork, I am inviting all Ogden/Millican members to share their community stories over a hot fall coffee on November 3rd at Ogden Hall (MOCA), 2-4 PM.
In the first 1/2 hour I will give an overview of the project, provide updates on its development, and reply to any questions specific to this public art community engagement project. And in the second half of our session the participants will have an opportunity to share their community stories, particularly the personal stories of families and people who impacted the life and development of Millican/Ogden. I will be taking notes summarizing these histories to influence the content of the final artwork. Participants will have the opportunity to share an interesting fact or an important aspect of their personal history to be mapped in relation to the five artwork installation sites. Also, participants are welcome to bring their family relics and photographs to show to our group and for visual documentation (I will take photographs of these items upon oral consent).
Coffee and snacks will be served during this informal session. Please RSVP at the Facebook event so we get plenty of food for everyone in this session: https://www.facebook.com/events/2151657398202502/
